Pasture Raised - Antibiotic Free - Hormone Free - All Natural
Bardwell Farm’s is committed to providing delicious, wholesome, all natural, antibiotic-free and hormone-free, 99% grass fed beef. This is not feedlot beef. The cattle are born here and raised on lush pasture using rotational grazing and sustainable farming practices, all while having unlimited access to fresh, clean spring water year-round. During the winter months they are fed our local hay in sheltered areas. We do not claim that our cattle are exclusively grass fed, for two reasons; First, Mother Nature often throws us some extremely cold winters during which the animal's energy needs cannot be met by hay alone. This is especially true for our mothers cows who are nursing their calves. During these harsh conditions we are compelled to supplement their diet using locally sourced grains to meet their dietary demand for more energy. Secondly, a grain bucket is an emergency safety net! The cattle are trained early on that they are in for a tasty treat, if they see any of us holding a feed bucket and hear the words "Come Boss", it is worth the effort to "Follow the Bucket" for a tasty reward. One night we had a bear tear down some fence and the herd went for a pre-dawn excursion down the road in the ensuing chaos. If not for the bucket and their quick response to follow it back into their home pasture, no cattle, vehicle, or person were injured on an otherwise busy road.
